This post is somewhat belated, but this is an important one.
From March 24th through 27th, I
performed the series of spring rituals that are called Season of the Tree by
certain Cybelline reconstructionists. These are Canna Intrat, Arbor Intrat,
Mesonyctium, Hilaria and Lavatio. I also conducted the Mysteries on March 26th.
I put Cynthya Brynkattae and Deborah “Rennie” Graney through them.
I subsequently elevated Cynthya to the Galla priestesshood. For
those who are unfamiliar with the term, the Gallae were the transgendered
priestesses who served Cybele and other deities as well. In terms of my own
credentials, I was elevated into Rachel Pollack’s line by Chelsea Goodwin in
2023. Therefore, anyone that I should initiate is also in Pollack’s line as
well.
I have made some alterations to these series of rituals. In
the process of adapting them to my own uses, I found a way to conduct them in a
way that is accessible to many disabled people. I am very proud of this. I have
several disabled students. Many disabled people tend to be left behind in many
Pagan groups who fail to take disabled celebrants and their needs into account.
Since Cynthya is now a fully elevated Galla priestess and we
share a home, our home is now a Phrygianum, which in the days of ancient Rome
was the convent home of the priestesses of Magna Mater. We dedicated our home
as such immediately after conducting the cycle of rituals.
We have been in the process of building our own temple group
since 2022. We hold a meetup and classes for witches. We will now be opening up
our rituals to the public.
